Drones in logistics.
From vision to reality
The market for drones is growing rapidly. Logistics companies are testing drone based solutions for the last mile and for destinations which are difficult to reach with trucks worldwide. With high-pressure they are working on solutions that make it possible to deliver quicker and easier.
Artificial intelligence is evermore taking over for assistance and automation functions. Last but not least, the progressive automation of drones to make them safer and more efficient and to increase acceptance for drones. The technological and regulatory parallels with the automation of driving are clear.
The talkes are devoted to the use of drones in the supply chain. After an overview of the economic and technological status quo, the contributions highlight the rapid development from the perspective of established manufacturers and logistics companies as well as from the perspective of the challenger, who expect and want to bring about revolutionary changes in logistics.
